I’ve been really loving the sounds of this band Hospitality. I missed them at their last show at the Rock Shop due to nyc’s monsoon weather. You can download their music for free here, hospitality.bandcamp.com.

I just came across this info-graphic by the 99 percent, as I was poking around for some inspiration for a current project. 99% took a poll to ask questions like “How do creative projects really get pushed forward? What tools are you using to manage your time and energy? And: Are the ways we live and work as creative professionals undergoing major changes?” I probably shouldn’t be writing a post right now, as my brain is fried, but I found it interesting to see how I compare with the 99% community.

I also found interesting that 53% of designers rework their original ideas at least 5 times. For me, it varies; I might rework an idea for a client at around 3 times but when I design for myself I usually get bored or think I can do better, which ends up becoming a never-ending process.

Six Point Craft Ales are releasing new cans for their 6th anniversary. Time Out New York has a sneak peak of the cans during production, and a good interview with Shane Whelch of Six Point. I love their beer and enjoy a Sweet Action from time to time. Although I think beer in a can is sacrilegious, I think these cans look pretty sweet.

Amazing and visually pleasing video. I love the cool turquoise throughout with splashes of warmth that add such an interesting dimension.

I originally was just going to post the poster for Edgar Wrights three films (Scott Pilgrim, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz) but when I found out who created the poster I decided to show more. I actually had a hard time picking my favorites. The work is done by DKNG Studios, who are Dan Kuhlken and Nathan Goldman. Beautiful illustrations and lovely type work.

Just look at these amazing posters for the original Star Wars trilogy by Ollie Moss. They are available for purchase (but probably not for long) for $500 a set. The use of the silhouette and scene are very clever, the two moons for C3PO, the cloud city to define the mask on Boba fett? Come on—star wars fan or not, you have to admit the beauty of these prints.

Chris Garcia is an artist living in Los Angeles who loves the act of customization—specifically with cars and bikes, which you can tell from his paintings. I like the combination of solid color with detailed paintwork.
