Scott Pilgrim vs the World Opening Credits

Sean

The Art of the Title Sequence finally added Scott Pilgrim opening sequence to their blog. There is a great interview with director Edgar Wright talking about the choices and ideas they had for the sequence. Edgar teamed with Shynola to create the effects. The credits open up to Scott’s band Sex Ba-Bomb playing “We are Sex Ba-Bomb” and is completely bad-ass. If this doesn’t get you excited for the movie, you may have problems. Go and buy Scott Pilgrim.

Also, if your in NYC this Friday the 7th, or Saturday, Scott Pilgrim is playing at the Landmark Sunshine Theater, so if you missed it in theaters the first time, here’s your chance.

Motion graphics is something is on my list of things to learn for 2011, specifically animating type. Steffen Knoesgaard who now resides in Copenahegen has pretty rad showreel.

2000 fps

Cool video put together by Oton Bačar. I love the rain in the slow motion parts, even though they were added in after. Cannon, AfterEffects and bikes are a beautiful match.

Paper Star Wars

Sean

I really like this adorable paper stop-motion take on Star Wars, by Eric Power, which breaks the original trilogy down in under 3 minutes. The song by Jeremy Messersmith has a dreamlike quality and works so well with the animation; I only wish it were longer.

Telephoneme by MK12

Sean

MK12 has come up with another amazing video called TELEPHONEME.

This video explores the alphabet contains certain “trigger” sounds and characters with embedded messages to manipulate a recipients thought patterns. Certain combinations, carefully assembled, may exploit the neuropath ways of the brain to allow clear passage of third-party information and instruction, according to the Voice Research Laboratory.
