Sean

Get excited for Peter Bjorn & John’s new Album Gimme Some coming out in late March. Can’t wait that long? Well your in luck as one of their tracks, Breaker Breaker is available now for free download from their (not so awesome) website. Perfect blend of pop and rock with a Swedish je ne sais quoi.

DKNG

Sean

I originally was just going to post the poster for Edgar Wrights three films (Scott Pilgrim, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz) but when I found out who created the poster I decided to show more. I actually had a hard time picking my favorites. The work is done by DKNG Studios, who are Dan Kuhlken and Nathan Goldman. Beautiful illustrations and lovely type work.

Star Wars posters by Ollie Moss

Sean

Just look at these amazing posters for the original Star Wars trilogy by Ollie Moss. They are available for purchase (but probably not for long) for $500 a set. The use of the silhouette and scene are very clever, the two moons for C3PO, the cloud city to define the mask on Boba fett? Come on—star wars fan or not, you have to admit the beauty of these prints.

Chris Garcia

Sean

Chris Garcia is an artist living in Los Angeles who loves the act of customization—specifically with cars and bikes, which you can tell from his paintings. I like the combination of solid color with detailed paintwork.

Pixel Spillage

Sean

I spotted this at Gothamist a last week and I love this kind of street art. This pixel water splash was found on Mercer Street. Imagine walking down the street and running into this? It’s most likely buried in snow now. Thanks to the artist(s) who did this for making me believe there is good in this world.

Scott Pilgrim vs the World Opening Credits

Sean

The Art of the Title Sequence finally added Scott Pilgrim opening sequence to their blog. There is a great interview with director Edgar Wright talking about the choices and ideas they had for the sequence. Edgar teamed with Shynola to create the effects. The credits open up to Scott’s band Sex Ba-Bomb playing “We are Sex Ba-Bomb” and is completely bad-ass. If this doesn’t get you excited for the movie, you may have problems. Go and buy Scott Pilgrim.

Also, if your in NYC this Friday the 7th, or Saturday, Scott Pilgrim is playing at the Landmark Sunshine Theater, so if you missed it in theaters the first time, here’s your chance.
