It is my personal opinion that this movie should be shown in schools for what it most certainly is: a cautionary tale, which we ought to heed as a depressingly prophetic warning of what is sure to come if we continue to let education and free thought fall by the wayside.
It’s hard to believe that our degradation of intellectual activity has already caused Idiocracy, the dystopian vision of satiric mastermind Mike Judge, to be so widely misinterpreted as a “hairbrained comedy” as opposed to a dark satire of our imminent future. Each and every day I witness signs that the idiotic apocalypse is near. Protect yourself. Read books!
